Beginning your life as a follower of Jesus
Beginning to follow Jesus opens a life of learning, trust and growth. You do not need to understand everything immediately. Take a few ordinary steps and ask for help along the way.
Read a Gospel
Start with a short passage from Mark or John. Notice what Jesus says and does, and write down a question or an idea to explore. Reading the surrounding story helps you understand a verse in context.
Talk with God
Prayer can be simple and honest. Give thanks, ask for help, speak about what troubles you and make space to listen as you reflect on Scripture.
Meet other Christians
Faith is lived with other people. Come to worship, ask questions and take time to build relationships. You do not have to join every activity at once.
Ask about baptism
Baptism is a significant step in following Jesus. Ask the pastoral team to explain the church's teaching and the preparation and arrangements currently available.
Keep growing through grace
You will still encounter questions and mistakes. Bring them honestly to God, take responsibility where needed and receive wise support. Growth takes place over time.
