A place for young people to explore faith

School, friendships, family expectations, social media and decisions about the future can bring a lot to think about. ANCC Youth invites young people to explore Jesus, ask real questions and discover ways to live with hope, kindness and purpose. You do not need to know church language or have your beliefs worked out to ask about joining in.

New to Leeds or new to church? Start with a conversation. Parents, carers and young people can contact ANCC to confirm the current age range, leaders, meeting dates and format. We do not want anyone travelling for an activity that has not been confirmed.

Your questions belong in the conversation

Is faith relevant to life now? Can I ask questions about the Bible? What does Jesus have to do with identity, friendship, pressure or the choices I make online? Christian faith welcomes thoughtful engagement. You can listen before speaking and take time to consider what you hear. You should not feel pressured to pray aloud, share private experiences or make a public commitment.

More than fitting in

Our vision is for young people to grow in a faith they understand, relationships marked by respect and the confidence to care for others. Following Jesus invites us to use our words responsibly, notice people who are left out and practise courage without putting ourselves or others at risk. This is about learning together, not pretending that life is easy.

A first step that feels manageable

1. Check the details. Ask ANCC about current youth activities, including ages, location, timings, costs if any, and registration or parental consent.
2. Make a plan with a parent or carer where appropriate. Confirm travel, arrival and collection arrangements. Meet the leader and ask what the activity will involve.
3. Take your time. Bring a friend if the activity’s arrangements allow, listen, ask a question and decide your next step afterwards.

You can also visit Sunday worship with family or friends. Church worship runs on Sundays 10:45 am–12:30 pm; this is not a separate youth timetable. The calendar lists published church events; confirm age suitability and supervision for each activity.

For parents, carers and trusted adults

Ask about leaders, consent, supervision, communication, photography and arrival and collection before the first activity. Discuss additional needs and any agreed support privately with the appropriate leader. Do not send a young person’s medical details or personal difficulties through a general enquiry or public social-media comment.

Read safeguarding information and how to report a concern. If something worries you, speak to a trusted adult and use the published reporting route. A website enquiry is not an emergency service.

Explore between gatherings

Start with a practical guide to studying the Bible or questions about Christianity. Parents can read supporting a teenager through a difficult season. University students and other young adults can explore the student and young-adult welcome and ask which opportunities suit them.
