CRISIS HELP

Find urgent help and support

If a situation is urgent, seek appropriate help now. A church website or enquiry inbox is not an emergency service. Use the routes below before waiting for a reply from ANCC.

When immediate safety and support are in place: Hope in a Crisis provides seven gentle days of full Bible readings, prayers and practical encouragement. The guide accompanies support; it never replaces urgent help.

Immediate danger

Call 999 or go to A&E if life is at risk or you cannot keep yourself or someone else safe.

Urgent mental health support

In England, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option for urgent mental-health help.

Someone to listen

Samaritans offers free telephone listening support on 116 123, day or night.

Abuse or a safeguarding concern

If you are worried about abuse or neglect, you can contact the appropriate statutory service directly. You do not need to seek church permission first. ANCC's safeguarding page includes further reporting routes.

Debt worries

For money problems, MoneyHelper's locator can help you find free debt advice.

Pastoral support after the urgent step

You can also ask ANCC for a pastoral conversation and prayer. Keep an initial message brief and do not send sensitive documents. Pastoral support can accompany the specialist help you need.
